This guide will walk you through the process of migrating your tokens from the old Polkadot chain to the new Polkadot Asset Hub: Polkadot Asset Hub has mapped your tokens 1:1 to AssetHub Polkadot.
You only need to add the AssetHub Polkadot chain and assets to your SafePal wallet to view and manage them. If some tokens are not displayed, you can search for and add them in the token management section.
Prerequisites:
- Your SafePal Wallet, with your mnemonic phrase secured and accessible.
- A balance of $Polkadot tokens in your address within your SafePal wallet.

A basic understanding that this migration is a special event and that the converted $DOT(AssetHub Polkadot) will automatically be on the Polkadot chain.
Understand the Migration Process
Your Polkadot tokens have been successfully migrated to the AssetHub Polkadot chain. To see them, you just need to add the 'AssetHub Polkadot' network to your SafePal wallet to view the assets. If any tokens are not displaying, you can manually search for and add them in your wallet's token management section within the SafePal wallet.
An equivalent amount of the $DOT(Polkadot) assets will be migrated onto the Polkadot AssetHub address in your SafePal wallet.
Option A: Add the Polkdot AssetHub chain
1. To begin, upgrade your SafePal App to the latest version (V4.10.3). You can download the latest version of the SafePal App from here.
2. Open your SafePal software wallet, click the All tab on the homepage of your SafePal App.
2. You can search for the Polkadot AssetHub chain or scroll down the App interface to find it. Then, simply click on it to add the chain successfully.
3. Then you can view all your assets and balances on the Polkadot AssetHub chain, and you can manage and trade your assets on this chain.
Option B: Add Your AssetHub Polkadot tokens in SafePal
1. Open your SafePal App and click the icon with the three dots, then click ‘Manage Coins’ on the App homepage (if your SafePal App is below V4.10.3, please upgrade it to the latest version from here first ).
2. Ensure you are in the wallet that holds your Polkadot chain assets, click the ‘Query’ icon or the blank field after the button, then enter the coin or token name that you would like to add. And in the case here it is $DOT(AssetHub Polkadot).
3. Select the coin or token you would like to add, here will be $DOT(AssetHub Polkadot) and click the ‘+’ button.
4. A notification ‘Added’ will pop up for a short while to indicate the token is successfully added. You can then check and find the $DOT(AssetHub Polkadot) coin in the Asset list.
5. Click on the $DOT(AssetHub Polkadot) coin, you will be able to see your Polkadot AssestHub address and its balance. Additionally, you can click the Receive icon to obtain an address or QR code for receiving $DOT tokens from the Polkadot AssetHub chain.
Congratulations! You have successfully migrated your $DOT assets to the new AssestHub Polkadot chain using your SafePal wallet.
